What does it mean to be a Christian? What must I do to be saved, and how can I be sure I am going to Heaven when I die? If you are not a Christian and these questions are on your mind, please read through this page to find out how to become a Christian and be saved.
What is sin and where did it come from? Well, in the beginning of the world God and man (Adam and Eve) enjoyed a close relationship, but Adam and Eve turned against God by disobeying Him and chose their own way. This rebellion (disobedience) is called sin. It is sin that separates us from God and the Bible teaches that everyone (except Jesus) has sinned ... "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). The punishment for these sins is death: "For the wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23). Sin leads us to eternal separation from God.
But thankfully there is hope. God has provided a way back to him and eternal life.
Romans 6:23 also tells us "the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." God wants to have a relationship with you. He loves you. That is why He sent Jesus to this world. John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Acts 4:12 tells us, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." Salvation is God's gift to us. So what do you need to do?
First you must
believe that Jesus is God's Son and that he died for your sins so that you can be forgiven. "For Christ died for sins
once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." 1 Peter 3:18.
Jesus then rose from the dead giving us a way back to God.
"If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10).
The next thing you need to do is confess your sins and say sorry for all the wrong things you have done. There is no sin too great for God to forgive. So do not think that your sins, whatever they are, cannot be forgiven, because they can. To repent also means to turn your back on sin and your old life to serve God.
You may ask how do I do this?
Spend time each day praying to God and reading the Bible. The Bible is God's handbook for life. God will show you how to lead your life and will give you his Holy Spirit to help you.
God gives you a choice. You can either choose to accept Jesus and have eternal life or you can choose to reject him and have no hope of a better life ahead.

"Father God, I believe in you and thank you for sending your Son Jesus Christ to earth to die on the cross for my sins so that I can have a relationship with you. I have sinned against you in my thoughts, words and actions and I am sorry and turn away from my sinful life to you. Please forgive me. Today I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. I ask that you will fill me with your Holy Spirit and that you will guide and help me to serve you each day. I ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

change straight away, but be assured that God has heard your prayer and that as you spend time praying and reading the Bible,
God will give you his Holy Spirit and you will become a new person. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
